L&M Long Transporter Wagon
£16.00
The Leek & Manifold Railway had several versions of Transporter Wagon.
The original two transporter wagons were delivered in 1904. These were 22' 6" long over the buffers. Two more were delivered in 1907 and were different in that they had a hinged rail that, when folded up, allowed the milk tankers' brake clear to clear the wagon. In 1918 one of the 1907 versions was lengthened to 36' to accommodate a six wheeled milk van. this was the long transporter wagon.
This model represents the long transporter version that was procured in 1918 to carry the six wheeled milk van. The wagon has holes that will accept an 8BA nut to aid attaching the bogies. There is a slot in each end through which a coupling can be fitted, Greenwich or DG. The wagon will only accept a P4 wheelset for the milk van that this wagon used to carry in real life as there isn't the space between the inner and outer wheelsets for anything less.
This is for the 3D print only. A kit that includes bogies is also available.
